Short nights and unsettled weather combined to reduce this observing section to relative inactivity, but we have passed the summer solstice and will enjoy longer hours of darkness as the year progresses.
David Davies sent in both of the images received this month, galaxies M88 in the constellation of Coma Berenices and NGC 3432 in Leo:
NGC 3432 is also known as Arp 206. This edge-on spiral galaxy is presumed to be interacting with UC 5983, the dwarf galaxy near its lower right tip in this image.
David used an 8” Richey-Chretien telescope coupled with a QSI 683 mono camera and red green and blue filters.
