31st May 2013 – Breaking News – Nova discovered in Aquila
News has just been recieved by the SPA VSS that a Nova has been discovered in the constellation of Aquila. The news release from the International Astronomical Union reads as follows:
PNV J19150199+0719471 (provisional designation) 2013 05 31.5974* 19 15 01.99 +07 19 47.1 10.8 U Aql I

Discovery report from K. Itagaki, Yamagata, Japan. Detected during the survey using 0.21-m refl. + CCD. The object was below 15.5 mag on his unfiltered survey image taken on 21.608 UT. Image can be seen at: http://www.k-itagaki.jp/images/pnv-aql.jpg
