At discovery it was approx mag 6.8.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tUnfortunately, that evening was cloudy in the UK, as was the following evening and UK based observers didn&#8217;t get their first view of the nova until Aug 16th.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe nova peaked in brightness about two days after discovery, having brightened by another two magnitudes. <\/p>\n<p>\n\tBy early September, the nova had faded by approx 2.5 magnitudes.
