\n\t\"\"The brightest nova for many years<\/strong> was discovered by the Japanese observer Koichi Itagaki<\/strong> on Aug 14th 2013<\/strong>. At discovery it was approx mag 6.8.<\/p>\n

\n\tUnfortunately, that evening was cloudy in the UK, as was the following evening and UK based observers didn’t get their first view of the nova until Aug 16th.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe nova peaked in brightness about two days after discovery, having brightened by another two magnitudes. <\/p>\n

\n\tBy early September, the nova had faded by approx 2.5 magnitudes. The fade then slowed briefly before picking up speed again.<\/p>\n
