Three of these are listed below.<\/p>\n<p>Do bear in mind however, that the intervals between maxima are not fixed in size and the catalogued periods of Mira type variables are only the average intervals between maxima. Maxima may, on occasion, occur 2-3 weeks earlier than predicted or 2-3 weeks later.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the peak brightness differs from one cycle to the next. Most predictions specify the average brightness range, but a few specify the extreme brightness range. Other than for those stars marked with an asterisk, the magnitude ranges quoted are average ranges.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><u><strong>Predictions from the AAVSO<\/strong><\/u><\/p>\n<p>The AAVSO publishes a list of predictions each year for upcoming maxima and minima of a large number of Mira type variables. This is usually published as an AAVSO bulletin. The 2016 listing, published in late February,\u00a0 and covering 14 months, can be found at\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.aavso.org\/aavso-bulletin-79-2016\">https:\/\/www.aavso.org\/aavso-bulletin-79-2016<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Once again, remember that the dates quoted in the listing are only approximate and the actual maxima may occur somewhat earlier or later than these dates.<\/p>\n<p>The bulletin can be downloaded as a PDF file or as a CSV file. The stars are listed in order of Right Ascension.
