Abbreviations: Mag: Visual magnitude. Phase: (R)eappearance, (D)isappearance or (G)raze at (D)ark or (B)right lunar limb. Alt: Altitude. The Moon’s height. Az: The angular position along the horizon measured clockwise from true north (through E, S, W back to N). PA: Position Angle, measured anticlockwise from the direction of the celestial North Pole.
Notes
There is only one event for this period, and this is the disappearance of the magnitude +5.4 star 79 Leonis at 22:18 UT on the 24th May. On a positive note, there will be a significant proportion of dark limb with which to block out the light from the remainder of the waxing gibbous Moon. So, this will be an ideal event for a first-time occultation observer.
