Ā You can join the Society for Popular Astronomy today by clicking on the red ‘join’ button below. You can join the SPA for up to two years at a time in any membership category.

UK membership ratesĀ
- Adult (Standard) membership (Ā£25 a year)
- Junior Member (ages 15 to 17) (Ā£19 a year)
- Young StargazerĀ (up to 15 years in age) (Ā£19 a year)
- School memberships (UK only) (Ā£19 a year) (Schools will receive one copy of the magazine and access to our meetings for students)
Europe & Rest of World membership rates
For those joining in Europe or the rest of the world there are separate subscription rates (Ā£40 or Ā£44 per year) which reflect the higher costs of postage.
How to make payment
We have a flexible range of options for payment.
To gain membership access immediately, you can sign up your credit and debit cards via Stripe or PayPal, (even if you don’t have a PayPal account).Ā
Alternatively you canĀ print out a form and join by post.
You can also pay your annual subscription by Direct Debit (this only applies to the standard adult UK membership). Ā To set this up, when you have filled in the online details please print out andĀ fill in this form (PDF) and send it to us. Please note thatĀ Direct Debit subscriptions renew annually.
Renewing your existing membership
If you are renewing your subscription, please also click on the Join button below to access your membership profile and sign in using your email address.
Gift subscriptions
You can give someone a gift of an SPA subscription for whatever membership type you wish ā Adult, Young Stargazer or Junior Member, for one or two years. When filling in the membership form, simply state the recipient’s postal address, but give your own email address, and tick the box requesting a Gift Subscription. We will email you, using the email address on the form, asking for any special requirements regarding the date of the arrival of the Welcome Pack and first issue of Popular Astronomy. Please allow 28 days before the gift subscription is due to start.
Additional members at the same address
You can enrol another member living at your address for just an extra Ā£5 per year. This entitles them to all membership benefits, but only one copy of Popular Astronomy will be sent to the address.
