Skywatchers curse contrails
This morning any blue sky thinking was scratched to hell!

It was quite hard to pick out the fainter bits of halo due to the very messy nature of the inter-crossing man-made cirrus of the contrails, David. Having commented on the contrails alone here, I walked around the corner to take some recycling to the bins when, looking up I noticed the coloured halo arc. Rushing back, grabbed my tablet, cursed as it took a few seconds to open the appropriate part and finally managed too take a couple of shots before it all disappeared. That strange bit of arc may be just a bit of smudged contrail but I did not notice it when I was struggling to take the pictures. The cirrus contrail's top on the picture is quite ragged, being smudged by upper winds. Regards mike f.
