The photocopy above comes from my 2002 Diary and concerned what happened to a large number of part-made mirrors that never made it into skywatching instruments but became stepping-stones and a rockery in the garden where George Hole once lived in Patcham. Hope of some interest. Probably still there. Regards mike f.

The resolution of the picture may be hard to read in the photograph, So here it it as text.
"On an overcast morning, went with George Hurrion to Patcham to visit Georgina Hole's garden. In the front garden there were about 20 mirror blanks set in the garden as stepping-stones or in the rockery. At least two had been worked on and had central holes. One had seemingly been finished and was etched with the companies name and optical specifications. Round the back of the house were many small mirror blanks and flats set in concrete.
We were lent for display, one mirror blank with central hole, one mounted flat, one unusual prism and a small speculum mirror . This was 3 3/16" across with a ¾" Central hole. Unfortunately it had broken in two and was held together with a metal band."
