An apology

Post by Cliff »

Dear DavidF
I believe (or thought I did ?) post (or had tried to) post a response to your comments posted Feb 26th at 4:13pm. However, my supposed post seems to have just disappeared ?
I can only assume I botched it up someway.
Basically I tried to thank you for your interesting comments about transatlantic flights (particularly over Manchester). I also tried to say I would be quite happy to go along with your comment that 25 million might be a safer UK population level, than the 35 million I had originally suggested.
Actually that 35 million was a "sort of best UK population" an old friend of mine had suggested to me about 1970, and it always stuck in my mind since (although I cannot really remember the reasoning for him mentioning that number.
Best wishes from Cliff
