It looks like the discovery turns out to be that there's more water on the moon than was previously thought. This is according to a news item on the BBC TV this afternoon.
Apparently, the discovery will make it easier to establish a base on the moon and also provide a source of hydrogen as rocket fuel for a Mars mission.
If earlier water was found in the constantly darkened part of the lunar craters, now it was found in places illuminated by the sun. The scientists imply that space exploration must become more self-sufficient, but there is still a need to transfer a huge amount of resources from the Earth to be able to get even water on the Moon.
