Propulsion

Post by Lariliss »

It must be admitted that with today’s launch requirements and numbers most of the related companies are focused on fuel/engine effectiveness techniques and reducing of greenhouse emissions.

Though launching without propulsion has been actual for a long time with emerging hypothetical ideas.
1. Majority are listed in Wikipedia: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Non-rocket_spacelaunch (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Non-rocket_spacelaunch).
2. The theory of quantized inertia (QI) proposes just that scenario. The concept is to convert Unruh radiation – a theorized form of quantum particles – into thrust.
3. Levitation. In electrostatic levitation the Earth’s electric field might be used to counteract gravitational force.

My realistic thinking still, today any technology that can reduce friction will improve both propulsion and non-propulsion approaches.

Are there any ideas about rocket vortex in the atmosphere or in space?

There is one method of rocket propulsion that doesn’t seem to have been seriously considered and that’s to have a giant catapult to sling rockets into space.
Possibly all of Earth’s rubber would be needed to make a strong enough elastic band.

Brian, right, thank you :)

Necessary to mention, not only Wikipedia main article, but also all 'References'.
Somehow I got to this one with catapult:

Getting to more realistic experiments and concepts, one day one of these might be helpful. With near earth launches new applications and modern technology and materials.
If there are several decades at our disposal.
And the same is applicable for deep space missions.

There is still a room for anti-gravity. I have encountered this information.

NASA, DARPA, MIT Scientists take it seriously.

Though, it is in UFO sub-subject yet.
