Most used eyepiece

Post by skyhawk »

What is your most used eyepiece and why

Just in case I am missing some from my collection, it's always nice to know what/why others use ?
Celestron 8" Edge HD Evolution, Esprit 120mm triplet, 72mm APO, Sky Tee 2, 6" reflecting scope, William Optics Binoviewer, Quark Daystar Ha Chromosphere on 72mm ED, LVW8mm eyepiece and Celestron 19mm Axiom, matched W.O 10 and 20mm, and a few others, D4s, D810,

For info, I am Autistic, Aspergers, ADHD, therefore if I come over as a little "short" on occasions it is not intended, thank you

Is there really such an eyepiece? Objects for observation in astronomy are so wide and varied that they demand a range of magnifications and field widths.
Have you a favourite eyepiece and why?

Thinking about it, my most used eyepiece over the years (since the early 1970s anyway) has been an 18mmFl Bertele eyepiece taken from Russian binoculars of that period and remounted in a 1.25in barrel by Peter Drew. I used it for years with an SCT and later a Dall-Kirkham (both British-made).

I must admit that since the advent of webcams, most of my observing has been on a computer screen.......

Mine is a 19mm, Celestron 2" Axiom, a few years old but not too powerful and offering the best Moon views. I have newer and better but this is the most used ignore the 50mm image
