"Censorship"
I just edited a post of mine to make it clear that I was observing with the Mark I eyeball. I'm pretty sure I typed "naeked-eye" (misspelling deliberate in this post), but when I'd finished it said "unaided eye". Is Big Brother watching us? Or his aged maiden aunt

Re: "Censorship"
Interesting point that! Many years ago, on this site, the word you mentioned became a bit of a bugbear and the site would not accept its use, although commonly used astronomically. Thereafter, I have always used the term 'unaided eye'. regards maf.

I wonder what the censor will make of "n---d-ladies". These are flowers
The scientific name Amaryllis belladonna means beautiful lady!

Edit : so the result is nonsense.
A little levity to brighten up these dark times

Re: "Censorship"
I added a "thin space" between the 'n' and the 'aked'

There's a thinspace here, between these two right-angle brackets [ ]. Copy and paste it if you need to foil the "censors". Until they cotton on to it of course

Re: "Censorship"
Yes, there were a number of words/terms that were deemed "inappropriate" when the forum was set up. Hopefully you can see why. I'm so used to seeing "unaided eye" these days that it's not an issue but maybe we should re-assess this particular phrase? Sorry if you feel you are being censored but I appreciate your light-hearted response.
