The problem of space junk

Going back to BrianL's original post.
If correct there is currently enough space junk for every one in the UK to have their own bit (with a bit left over maybe?).
We can look at the issue in a variety of ways, eg : -
1) If every human in the UK goes and collects their own bit, then space will be fairly empty again.
2) If we just let things carry on like they are for a while, then eventually every human in the World can have their own bit of space junk.
So no need to mess up the far side of the Moon.
3) Any other ideas -anyone ?
