The SUN - 16th August

Post by Cliff »

Generally I haven't found the Sun very exciting recently but today despite miserable morning rain, later conditions improved & despite frustrating drifting cloud, I managed to get a few White Light video clips in the afternoon using my 88mm refractor with Opticstar PL-131m video camera. An image now attached revealing two modest Sunspots.
Best wishes from Cliff

A very sharp white light image Cliff. If you checked out the Sun in Ha at the weekend, did you see the big prom?

That's two more than I've seen in the last 19 days!

Hello Cliff, It's a small bi-polar group with 2 or 3 smaller associated spots - still here today 17/8/21. Regards, Bob

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately I haven't observed the Sun much recently. Even when able to, only briefly & little chance of imaging in Hydrogen Alpha.

Thanks, $ Nicely done. I can only envy your success. I did suspect my images might reveal more but conditions were mediocre & a recent recent previous experience/problem discouraged me pursuing the matter.
