Partial solar eclipse

Post by Ian Papworth »

Managed to get a few breaks in cloud cover to capture the eclipse. Imaged using a coronado pst and Altair Gpcam 290.

What causes the bright rim to the edge of the Moon? The image processing?

Yes it is just via the processing, I used a OSC camera instead of a mono which is not ideal with an H-alpha telescope. My mono camera was attached to my guide scope on my deep sky set up.

Great pictures, Ian! Thank you for sharing it, I couldn't watch it in my own eyes, hope next time I will be more lucky. Anyway I will not be able to make pictures like you did as I don't have such facilities

Ian - Great stuff, I enjoyed seeing your fine images of the partial eclipse, even though I was clouded out myself.
Best wishes from Cliff
