The SUN - 15th April
Three more images of the Sun now attached. 1) White Light 88mm refractor 15:42UT image, just revealing the small group of Sunspots & another possible Sunspot (possibly coinciding with another very small bright patch on image 2 Ha Disk image). 2) Hydrogen Alpha 60mm Coronado SolarMax scope Sun Di...

Re: The SUN - 14th April
Bob - Thanks for your comments. I managed to image the Sun again on 15th much later than you. I found the Sunspots quite faint.

The SUN - 12th April
12th April, another nice though cool day. I imaged the Sun again in Hydrogen Alpha (using a 60mm Coronado Ha SolarMax scope) & White Light (88mm refractor). I got interesting results but my White Light efforts although revealing Sunspots I feel a little disappointing. Three images are now attach...

Re: The SUN - 11th April
Bob - I didn't detect any Sunspots, either visually nor imaging on 11th April but presumably those you reported observing visually I did image the next day, (I will provide that in a new post). Brian - I do not know the 11th April small irregular bright-ish spot official classification, but believe ...

The SUN - 11th April
Three images of the Sun taken mid-ish afternoon, Sunday 11th April, are now attached. One is a White Light 88mm refractor image, the other two are Hydrogen Alpha images taken through a 60mm Coronado Ha SolarMax scope (one exposed to reveal Ha Solar disk detail mainly supergranulations but also in th...

The Sun - 9th April Again
Hopefully I now attach a cropped image (inverted) which I think shows two men fighting on the Sun's Southern Limb in the afternoon, 9th April.
This may be evidence that Wm Herschel was correct in thinking there is life on the Sun.

The SUN - 9th April
The 9th April helped me get my best Sun images for quite a while - although no Sunspots were detected in White Light, my Hydrogen Alpha images revealed some very interesting things for me. My Ha Sun Disk exposure image reveals not only supergranulations but also a quite long dark filament in the Sun...

Re: Elon Musk promotion
I totally agree with Mike. Human beings & in particular- there being so many of them (us !) now, making a real mess up of the earth. The Green Party think they have all the answers, but from what I gather the Green's seem to think the number of human beings can just keep going up & Up & ...

Re: The SUN - 8th March
Skybrowser Thanks - I'm pleased you got decent viewing on the 7th March. I was clouded out then. Interesting that you used projection. In my case although I usually mention I observe visually, really I usually spend little time doing that in practice, most of my time is spent imaging & re-aligni...

The SUN - 8th March
8th March; cloudy morning but clearing in the afternoon, when I visually observed & imaged the Sun through our W facing back bedroom window.
My 88mm refractor, White Light Sun image revealing an interesting group of small Sunspots is now attached (not seen visually).

Re: The Sun 2nd & 6th March
Skybrowser Thanks for your replies. Perhaps I should have also mentioned that I too did not see the Sunspots visually using my 88mm refractor. I might mention that most (nearly all !) of my visual observing & Sun imaging is done using the 88mm refractor pointing through double glazed windows som...

The Sun 2nd & 6th March
Skybrowser & or anyone else. In my 1st March post I said, "I seem to be getting a bit busier lately. Perhaps I should have said "I'm slowing down a bit\a lot". Whatever, I attach two White Light Sun images : - 1) 2nd March 15:09UT revealing a small faint-ish Sunspot in the Sun's S...
