The day dawned with blanket high cloud here. No chance of seeing anything until the Sun burnt those clouds back, then too bright of course.

I also picked up Saturn this morning in the pre-dawn sky at 05.35BST . Usin 10x50 binoculars the planet's yellowish hue was quite obvious. Tried for Jupiter about half an hour later but no good, sky was too bright by then I think.

Skygazers Almanac (S&T) shows Venus as an evening star for the rest of this year. Most of this time it will be hugging the twilight zone

Now that Russia has a submarine specifically designed to cut undersea (internet) cables used by every one including the military, maybe Starlink will become the only long-term option
