increasing the total to ten.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ian Papworth<\/strong> took images of three planetary nebulae and a globular cluster.\u00a0 First is M76, the Little Dumbbell planetary nebula in the constellation of Perseus.\u00a0 Next is M27, the Dumbbell in Vulpecula, which is 2.5 magnitudes brighter and about 4 times bigger in angular size, so much easier for visual observers to detect.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_3141\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3141\" style=\"width: 333px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" Andromeda.\u00a0 A favourite with visual observers, the slightly blue disc may be seen through a small telescope.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_3143\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3143\" style=\"width: 333px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-3143\" id=\"caption-attachment-3143\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">NGC 7662<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Last is M92;\u00a0 this less well known globular cluster in Hercules is a fine object but with M13 nearby it is sometimes overlooked.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_3144\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3144\" style=\"width: 333px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-3144\" src=\"https:\/\/www.popastro.com\/deepsky\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2018\/01\/2016.08.-M92-Ian-Papworth.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"333\" height=\"262\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.popastro.com\/deepsky\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2018\/01\/2016.08.-M92-Ian-Papworth.jpg 333w, https:\/\/www.popastro.com\/deepsky\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2018\/01\/2016.08.-M92-Ian-Papworth-300x236.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 333px) 100vw, 333px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-3144\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">M92<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I was able to observe on two nights late in August and took six images with a 305 mm SCT and DSI II camera.\u00a0 Three were of objects in the constellation of Delphinus;\u00a0\u00a0 planetary nebulae NGC 6905 and globular clusters NGC 7006 and NGC 6934.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_3145\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3145\" style=\"width: 400px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-3145\" src=\"https:\/\/www.popastro.com\/deepsky\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2018\/01\/2016.08-NGC6905_LRGB-DF.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"342\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.popastro.com\/deepsky\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2018\/01\/2016.08-NGC6905_LRGB-DF.jpg 400w, https:\/\/www.popastro.com\/deepsky\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2018\/01\/2016.08-NGC6905_LRGB-DF-300x257.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-3145\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">NGC 6905<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>NGC 6905 is also known as the Blue Flash, and has a central white dwarf star with a temperature of 150,000 degrees Kelvin.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_3146\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3146\" style=\"width: 400px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-3146\" src=\"https:\/\/www.popastro.com\/deepsky\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2018\/01\/2016.08-NGC7006-DF.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"308\" id=\"caption-attachment-3146\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">NGC 7006<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>NGC 7006 is a distant globular, some estimates place it at over 180,000 light years from the id=\"caption-attachment-3147\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">NGC 6934<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>NGC 6934 is about three times closer to us than NGC 7006.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_3148\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3148\" style=\"width: 400px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-3148 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.popastro.com\/deepsky\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2018\/01\/2016.08.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"308\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.popastro.com\/deepsky\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2018\/01\/2016.08.jpg 400w, https:\/\/www.popastro.com\/deepsky\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2018\/01\/2016.08-300x231.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-3148\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">NGC 6886<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Planetary nebula NGC 6886 looks quite star &#8211; like in this image, so much so that I&#8217;ve added an arrow to locate it in the star field.\u00a0 It is about 10,000 light years away, and the slightly oval brighter inner part captured here is only 2 arc seconds across.\u00a0 NGC 6886 is in Sagitta.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The remaining two images are NGC 6712,\u00a0 a globular cluster in the constellation of Scutum, and Palomar 9, a much fainter globular in Sagittarius.\u00a0 Palomar 9 is the cluster of faint stars below and slightly to the right of the bright star.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_3149\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3149\" style=\"width: 400px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-3149\" plates, in the 1950&#8217;s.\u00a0 They are either distant, in the outer galactic halo, or like Palomar 9, nearby average globulars heavily obscured by interstellar dust and
