Sun, 15 Oct 2006 - Comet 2006 M4 (SWAN)

Comet SWAN has flared in brightness and was visible at magnitude 4.5 on October 24, an easy naked-eye object in clear, dark skies. Pete Lawrence, of Selsey, West Sussex, took a fine image of the comet, right, through an 80mm refractor. There is no way to predict howlong the outburst will last or whether there will be further brightenings but it will be well worth looking to see.
